  1. Divisions: Mini Mite, Mite, Novice

  2. Goalies:
        As stated in rule 8, each team must include a goalie. The goalie must be wearing full goalie equipment according to the rules and regulations governing the association. Teams whose goalie is unable to play may borrow a goalie from another team in the same association at the same age group or one age group younger. If a team shows up without a goalie they will be given a maximum of 15 minutes (time permitting) to dress or locate a backup. If they are unable to provide a goalie the game will be forfeited and the other team will be awarded a 1 - 0 win.
  3. Mouth guards:
       
    For all players in the MMHA and UMHA associations, mouth guards are required as part of the official uniform as per OMHA regulations. For players in the TCHL, mouth guards are recommended but not required as per GTHL regulations.
  4. Game Suspensions:
       
    Players given game suspensions will serve the suspensions during the tournament. Any left over game suspensions not served during the tournament will be served when the player returns to house league play. Suspensions may also be reviewed by the players association.
     
  5. Time outs:
    Each team is allowed one 30 second timeout during a game including overtime.
     

  6. Mite Division:
    1. No icings
    2. No offside's
    3. Puck frozen by the goalie - toss the puck into one of the corners Rule 17 (Mite Scoring) - toss the puck into one of the corners
    4. Goal scored - Face off at Centre ice
    5. Start of each shift (180 second buzzer) - Face off at centre ice
    6. Do not change ends after each period
       
  7. Tyke/Novice Division:
    1. Standard hockey rules
    2. Call icings, offside's etc.
    3. Standard Face off for restarts
    4. Start of each shift (180 second buzzer) Face off at centre ice
    5. Change ends each period
       
  8. Pulling the goalie – Mite, Tyke & Novice divisions:
       
    Mite, Tyke and Novice divisions are permitted to pull their goalie during the final shift (3 minutes) of the third period. Any bench player may be inserted onto the ice in place of the goalie.  If the goalie returns to the ice, the player substituted earlier must return to the bench.
     

  9. Clock Stoppage – Mite, Tyke & Novice divisions:
        In the event of a stoppage in play from injury or protracted discussion, the referee should instruct the timekeeper to stop the clock. The convenor may suggest to the referee that the clock be stopped.
     

  10. Rule 16 – Mercy Rule – official score
       
    The official tournament score shall not exceed a 5 goal differential.  This score will be reported on the web site and will be used for tie resolution if required.  All goals scored will be recorded on the game sheet (except goals excluded by rule 17).
     

  11.  Tie breaker rules:
        In the event that teams are tied for 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th place at the end of round robin play, the following steps will be used to break the tie.

o     Head to head during round robin play **
o    The team with the most wins
o    
The team with the fewest goals against
o    
The team with the fewest goals for
o    
Coin toss

** Head to Head only applies if 2 teams are tied - if 3 or more teams are tied then move to next tie breaker
